Let us delve into an objective, partly speculative and partly certain discussion of Samsung Galaxy S7 Vs Apple iPhone 7.
Samsung Galaxy S7 will roll out in February. Apple iPhone 7 will not be out until fall. It will possibly be announced or launched in September. Whether Samsung’s steadfast launch will work in favor or against its interests is for time to tell and what Apple does with its iPhone 7.
- Samsung Galaxy S7 will possibly have a 5.1 inch display with 2560 by 1440 pixels as the maximum resolution. There could be subtle changes to the design but nothing earth shattering. S7 will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM and provisions for 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Samsung Galaxy S7 will have faster processors, new DRAM chips, a microSD card slot, possibly a 3D Touch-like pressure sensing display, 16 MP front and 5 MP rear cameras but Apple may come up with cameras that can capture DSLR like images.
- Apple iPhone 7 would have two variants, the other being 7 Plus. The two would respectively have a 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch 3D Touch display. The screens would have 2560 by 1440 pixels QHD resolution. The most notable feature of the iPhone 7 will be the lack of a home button, headphone jack and a slimmer form. iPhone 7 will roll out with A10 processor, 3GB of RAM and provisions for up to 256GB of internal storage. You could choose from 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variants. There will be some substantial changes to the design. In addition to the slimmer profile, there is a new non-aluminum composite material that will be used for the body and that would make the case more water resistant. However, an iPhone that is completely waterproof is not happening yet.
For smartphone enthusiasts, it is game on and one cannot wait to see the specs on the box.
