If rumors are to be believed, then the iPhone 6c may be just around the corner. Many are anticipating an early launch of the follow up to the iPhone 5c. But others say that the launch may be announced sometime in the first quarter but the phone may not roll out to the stores till midyear or possibly September.
Many think that Apple will develop the iPhone 6c based on its reception and feedback of iPhone 5c. Others believe that it would be a mix of what iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s offered. In all likelihood, the iPhone 6c would come with a curved cover glass in an aluminum case, there would be a few color options to choose from and you would have the A9 processor. One can expect the iPhone 6c to have a 1,642 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.1, 8 megapixel rear and 1.2 megapixel front cameras along with 802.11ac Wi-Fi. There is little hope to have the 3D Touch.
Apple will have to make the iPhone 6c more affordable than the 5c but then the company is known for its surprising price tags so one can never be sure. The iPhone 6c would perhaps have a 4.0 inch screen and will replace all preceding models in the same category. The production of iPhone 5c has already been halted and no new stocks are arriving in stores.
There are some conflicting reports though. Some reports state that there will be an aluminum case while some state that a plastic case is more likely, especially to make it cheaper. It would perhaps feature Touch ID and NFC, Apple Pay support and will possibly be powered by iOS 9. The Touch ID has been long due in budget phones but then Apple has a tendency to keep the wanted features off-limits for affordable variants.
As far as consumers are concerned, one would want a better processor, certainly a 4.0 inch screen, a better price tag, design that doesn’t make it look obviously simple or just plastic and thus inferior to the pricier variants, a slim form, more storage and much better battery life than the 5c.
